At the Edmundston Regional Hospital, April 16, 2022, Mr. Thomas ‘’Tim’’ Shaw, resident of Edmundston, passed away at the age of 79 years old. He was the husband of Mrs Patricia Miller, son of late Mr. Earl Shaw and late Mrs Marguerite Guerrette.

Tim’s passing has caused immeasurable heartache to his family and sorrow to all who knew and loved him but his infectious sense of humour, sense of adventure and moral values live on in his Children: Kathleen Shaw Bisgaard (Erik) from Thornhill, Peggy Shaw (Shaun Castle) from St-Édouard-de-Kent, Denise Oliver (Darren) from Thornhill, his grandchildren: Emma, Stephanie (Matt), Julie-Christine (Ben), Gabrielle (Josh), Grace and Abby, his great-grandchildren: Annabelle, Jonathan, Taylor, Emmet, Carter, Luca and Jonah.  He will also be sadly missed by his brother Richard ‘’Dick’’ Shaw from Ottawa, his sisters: Jean Shaw Brown (Jim) from Edmundston and Marilyn Blais (Yvan) from Moncton, many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Visitations will take place at Bellavance Funeral Home, 153 Canada Road in Edmundston, on Wednesday, April 20^th, from 12: 30 pm to 2:30 pm and will be followed by the funeral service at 3 pm at the Immaculate-Conception Cathedral with interment in the parish cemetery.

Tim was a proud member of the Rotary Club of Edmundston and of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25. He held himself to a high moral standard and encouraged a sense of justice and generosity in those around him. 

The family wishes to thank the doctors and the nurses of the Edmundston Regional Hospital for their compassion and the excellent care provided as well as Fr. Laurent Nadeau for rushing to Tim's side to administer the sacrament of the last rites. 

For those who wish, donations to the Rotary Club of Edmundston, The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25 or The Edmundston Regional Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Tim had an uncanny intelligence and ability to bring a smile to your face and a hearty laugh to your soul.   Know that every time you make someone laugh, do a kind deed and lend a helping hand to those in need, Tim will be smiling down upon you.

À l’Hôpital régional d’Edmundston, le 16 avril 2022, à l’âge de 79 ans et 7 mois, est décédé M. Thomas ‘’Tim’’ Shaw, domicilié à Edmundston, époux de Mme Patricia Miller, fils de feu M. Earl Shaw et de feu Mme Marguerite Guerrette.

Malgré la profonde peine que son départ apporte à sa famille et tout ceux qui l’ont connu, son sens de l’humour, d’aventure et de morale vivront pour toujours dans ses enfants : Kathleen Shaw Bisgaard (Erik) de Thornhill, Peggy Shaw (Shaun Castle) de St-Édouard-de-Kent, Denise Oliver (Darren) de Thornhill, ses petits-enfants : Emma, Stephanie (Matt), Julie-Christine (Ben), Gabrielle (Josh), Grace et Abby, ses arrière-petits-enfants : Annabelle, Jonathan, Taylor, Emmet, Carter, Luca et Jonah. Il laisse aussi dans la peine mais également avec de merveilleux souvenirs son frère et ses sœurs : Richard ‘’Dick’’ Shaw d’Ottawa, Jean Shaw Brown (Jim) d’Edmundston et Marilyn Blais (Yvan) de Moncton ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces, cousins, cousines et amis.

Ses funérailles auront lieu le mercredi, 20 avril 2022 à 15 h en la Cathédrale de l’Immaculée-Conception et l’inhumation au cimetière paroissiale. La famille de M. Shaw accueillera parents et ami(e)s à compter de 12 h 30 mercredi à la Résidence funéraire Bellavance du 153 chemin Canada à Edmundston. Les heures de visites seront mercredi de 12 h 30 à 14 h 30, les funérailles étant à 15 h.

M. Shaw était membre du Club Rotary d’Edmundston ainsi que de la Légion Canadienne Branch 25 d’Edmundston. Il avait une passion pour la justice et l’entraide. Il avait d’amples connaissances et une générosité sans mesure.

La famille remercie sincèrement les médecins et le personnel de l’Hôpital régional d’Edmundston pour leur compassion ainsi que pour les excellents soins qu’il a reçus. Merci aussi au Père Laurent Nadeau pour son soutien spirituel et pour l'administration des derniers sacrements.

Tim avait un don très spécial d’inspirer le sourire, le confort et les bonnes valeurs dans tous ceux qu’il côtoyait. Sachez qu’à chaque fois que vous ferez rire quelqu’un, que vous poserez un geste chaleureux et que vous tendrez la main à ceux qui en ont de besoin, Tim sourira sur vous.
